Show Capture Date For Star Positions And DSS Images

The UCAC5 data helped me find two (!) GAIA stars last night forming orbiting visual doubles that also show rotation in DSS images. In addition, a third GAIA star showed significant (~14 arc seconds) of proper straight line motion since the GAIA position data was collected and more less than half than from the DSS image data for the same location.

It would be enormously helpful if the date for the position data of stars was listed in the info panel about that star and the capture date for DSS images was also displayed below the image. For the DSS data, I have no way of hunting this down on my own. For the GAIA position data, I might be able to, but I am a little stuck on where to even start after a cursory initial scan of web resources for looking at this database.

I believe all the GAIA data in the UCAC5 catalog was collected in 2015

The DSS images probably depend on what version of SkySafari yo are using and on what platform.  In SS6 we switched to using the HST Phase2(GSC1) plates.  It is hard to know exactly when these were taken and different parts of the sky were taken at different times.

This site has some information: http://gsss.stsci.edu/SkySurveys/Surveys.htm

It looks like the GSC1 plates were collected between 1979 and 1988.
