Good morning all. I am having a problem with the compass. When pointing the phone (Samsung S8) in a particular direction the screen shows the opposite direction. In other words, if I am facing south and point the camera south, on the screen it shows North. I can be looking at the moon on the screen but the moon will actually be directly behind me. For the first week or so after getting the app it worked perfectly, but then something went wrong. I'm am hoping it is just a setting or something, but I did not change anything. I have tried resetting to defaults/restarting but no joy. Assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Keiron Smith Hi Andre,
Are you using a case? If so, please remove the case and try again. Also make sure you have the correct location selected. And, try to re-calibrate the compass.
Thanks!

Andre van Vuuren Hi Keiron,
I tried a fresh install and re-calibrated the compass. The app is working perfectly again. Thank you for the assistance!
Kind regards

Bill Tschumy Yes, these compass failures are almost always because the compass is returning the wrong data to us. Recalibrating it generally fixes things.

pilot87178d Or, taking the case off the tablet. I had the same issue and sent you a log-file, Bill. New Android tablet, SS 5+ and Portal linked/operated perfectly with the scope. Later in the evening, was disconnected but went out to use the binos. Both SS5+ and Portal would not come off of Zenith. Sent you a log file, but then realized the only variable is I had added a case. Once removed, all went back to "perfect". Will go find a case that does not affect the apps.
