In SkySafari 6 , we zoom in while sliding forward two fingers on a trackpad and zoom out while sliding backward two fingers.
This is the opposite of the movement required in TheSkyX, KStars and SN7.
Why ?
I wish that SkySafari includes a button to give the user the opportunity to define how he/she wants to zoom in.
Many years ago when we first implemented this feature, we look at other (non-astronomical) software and determined that pulling down to zoom out was the most common behavior. That is why we chose that. I also seem to recall that we asked a bunch of friends what seemed most natural to them and they chose our current scheme.
Yes, I suppose we could have a switch to control this but we have gotten almost no complaint/comments about it so it is not a particularly high priority right now. I will make sure it is on the list of things to consider.
