A suggestion: could you add star party locations by name to the Sites search function? I manually defined Stellafane, which has to be a pretty common site for my part of the country. Arunah Hill would be another. Cherry Springs State Park was searchable but the graphics had a big white area. I'm using Chrome 67 on a 64 bit Windows 7 PC.

I looks like it just hasn't yet downloaded that section of the globe imagery. I suspect that if you keep waiting, it'll download and become the same resolution as the surrounding hills.
You can easily add your own sites, which is probably the best way to get yours in there.
