SkySafari 5 Pro runs great on my Galaxy Tab A 10.1. However, on the same device SS6 Pro runs so sluggish I cannot use it (e.g. the sky chart scrolls very jerkily, menu buttons are completely unresponsive).
Some additional info regarding the sluggishness: I'm a new user to SkySafari, so there are no observation lists, telescope info, etc. stored on the device. The device has the latest software updates. Starting SS6 after a hardboot and closing any running apps does not help. Running both versions simultaneously SS5 runs flawlessly, SS6 is sluggish. Being connected or not being connected to Wi-Fi does not make a difference in performance.

A big change between SS5 & SS6 is that SS5 used OpenGL ES1 and we now use OpenGL ES2 in SS6. I'm not sure why this would cause the performance problems.
Two things t try:
1. Reboot the device.
2. Reinstall the app. I have had a couple of customers complain about poor behavior and reinstalling fixed it.
If those don't work, then we would have to dig further. However, we can't reasonably go back to OpenGL ES 2.
