I have a first generation sky wire cable with a iPad lightning adapter. This has worked well for me in the past but with my iPad Pro and iOS 12 using SkySafari Pro six I’m having issues. When I plug the sky wire cable with adapter in it tells me that the skyway accessory has been recognized. It even allows me to connect to the Telescope and Slew in all directions. Unfortunately the crosshairs target does not move while the telescope is Moving. If the crosshair does not move I can’t align it. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Like I mentioned it has worked for years for me.

Bill Tschumy George,
What type of scope are you controlling? I've seen something similar a couple of times with a Celestron NexStar mount. It is always temporary and seems to go away if I restart the mount.
Is the mount star aligned when this happens? Could you try rebooting the iPad?
When this happens, can you do a GoTo? just trying to see if the mount and SkySafari are really talking to one another.

george mehallick Celestron Nexstar 8. Did not align the scope first using the hand controller. I think I need to do that first then the software will sync up and when I use the iPad controls and the scope moves I believe the crosshair will then move with the iPad controls. Sound correct?

Bill Tschumy It is possible that the star alignment is needed. As I said I occasionally see this during testing and it appears that the mount is just not returning the correct position. It is very sporadic for me.

george mehallick Yes I think I need to use the hand controller to align the scope first and then hook up the iPad. I haven’t used my scope in years so I can’t remember the process exactly. What is your setup?
