I would appreciate any help you can give me. I'm using an Evolution 8 WiFi with SkySafari 6 Pro, using my ipad
After a couple of successful 3-star, manual alignments, I wasn't satisfied with the targeting of various stars (about 1/2 to 1 degree off)
QUESTION #1: Shouldn't my successful calibration from a few weeks ago have transferred to last night (i.e., same observing spot)? Why did I need to do a re-calibration?
I tried to re-calibrate to achieve better accuracy, after "calibration Okay," I did a three-star manual alignment, but targeting wasn't much better, but, as it turns out, I should have live with this (see below)
QUESTION #2": Each time I tried to do a re-calibration (i.e., pressing "align" and then pressing "calibrate") I kept getting: "adding reference stars (or was it reference "points"). I have no idea why these reference points (five or six were added) kept accumulating when I was trying to do a calibration?
QUESTION #3: At this point SkySafari "hung up" (wheel kept spinning). I rebooted my ipad and was able to use the app again, however, after another alignment, the target bulls-eye on my ipad screen was at least 30 degrees off (i.e., Target bulls-eye was pointing at Polaris and scope was pointed 30 degrees to the right of the bulls eye on my ipad screen. At this point it was useless to continue.
FINAL QUESTION: Do I need to delete the SkySafari app from the ipad and reload it? This seemed to help once before (but not for the same problem)
Any suggestions will be most appreciated!!!
