No Name Set

Hi, i have recently dug out my old copy of Pro Plus 6 to try and get some scope control into a planetarium.

I have tried Stellarium with its Stellarium Scope but with no success and then after some interweb searching

i forgot SNPP6 has scope control, so here is my issue. I downloaded the Meade Classic driver which recognized

my Autostar hand set but the control was a little hit and miss but then i stumbled upon a thread here that gave

me a Meade Universal setup driver and now the scope actually goes where i ask it when nudging, my only bug

bare is its calling the scope cursor "No Name Set" and i cant find a way or renaming it. Is there a way i can do

this as it just spoils the over all looks?

Kind regards,

Lee.

I'm using a different driver (Bresser GoTo) but I am having the exact same problem.  On screen, the telescope's reticle shows "Short driver name - please customize".  It is definitely annoying watching this text slew all over the screen.  I have not been able to figure out how to customize the name and there doesn't appear to be anything in the Starry Night user manual about it.  Since I can't find anything in the manual, I'm going to assume I need to change the name somewhere within the driver itself but I'm having absolutely no luck in finding info on this.

I hope someone can give us a clue!

Yer, same here Patrick. I have checked what seams to be an endless amount of files to find the description im wanting to change with in the code views via note book so just a pointer will help.

I dont  think however the feedback from SC is monitored much so could be along wait :(

I tried changing the ScopeName in the driver and then reinstalling the driver...  didn't work.  I'm now thinking that this is embedded someplace in the firmware on the mount.  The next option I would prefer if I can't actually easily customize this name....  give me the option to turn off that label in Starry Night.

I have to say that the frustration that this one issue is creating is really ruining this software package for me.

If I learn anything or figure out a solution myself, I'll be back to let you know here.

Cheers Patrick, i too am a little saddened by the target name being wrong, it just spoils the whole effect for me. While you search i will continue to troll through all the files i can find and open in notepad to see if the "name set" can be found and changed.
