[Bug]* Observe -> Equipment -> Telescopes -> Add or Edit Telescope -> Edit Focal Length = User Telescope Panel Appears Frozen

When entering equipment manually the program froze.

I doubled checked the instructions. I had followed them exactly (clicked OK, once entered model, make etc.)

The equipment I had entered was stored.

Decided to report this after four attempts. Clicking the OK and two attempts just hitting the Return key.

Required to use the Task Manger to quit the program each time.

(Have not tried importing them from Version 7 Pro Plus yet.)

Please provide a screenshot of the fields you are entering equipment into before the crash.  Please also include your OS.

    Thanks!

    Hi Keiron,

The first screen shot shows what I am entering.

The second shows the screen after I have clicked on the OK.

At this point the screen freezes and will none of the GUI will accept any commands.

The third screen shot is a grab from this morning.

I clicked on the ‘cancel button’ and the ‘Le Grand Freeze’.

The fourth screen shot is my OP SYS.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks, Joe.  I can reproduce this.  We'll get it fixed in the next update.

So, actually, I think there is a specific field box involved here, and a workaround for now.  Please confirm for me:

If you manually add a scope but do not change the Focal Length then there is no issue closing the panels?

If you manually add or edit a scope and change the Focal Length then the User Telescope list will appear frozen?

Once the User Telescope list becomes frozen, if you minimize the main app window, using the SN8 icon on the Windows OS taskbar along the bottom, then you can unlock the frozen panel, and close it like normal?

    Thanks!

    Hi Keiron,

    Thanks for your quick reply.

Your summation with regard to the field entry issue is partially correct.

    To verify, I did a work down through the fields manually changing the data entered additively: Model Name only, name and make only, etc;

    •                 Manually entering: Model Name only then, clicking OK: No issue.
    •                 Manually entering: Model Name and Make, then clicking OK: Freeze.
    •                 Manually entering: Model Name, Make and Aperture, then clicking OK: Freeze.
    •                 Manually entering: Model Name, Make, Aperture and Focal Length, then clicking OK: Freeze.

I did not check to investigate if only one of the fields is altered.

I did find a similar problem with the Eyepiece Entry. Probable Dialogue box parameter passing issue.

     I hope this helps.

I took note of your suggestion to click on the SN Icon on the Taskbar and then re-click it. This works.

    Regards
