Each time I connect SS6 Pro to my scope, I must set the scope type and the connection type.
Most people have only one scope setup .
Would it not be nice if SS6 could save the settings as default for the next time ?

Jean-Claud,
This should already be remembered. I just tested it and certainly the scope type is remembered. I am not seeing the connection type remembered however. I can look into that.
If the scope type is not remembered then I can think of two possibilities:
1. The app is not shutting down correctly but is being killed prematurely
2. You have something installed on the mac that is deleting the default settings file where this is stored. Are other settings properly remembered (like the selected object)?
I just looked and we don't remember the connection type on Mac. This is (in part) because some of these connection types come and go depending on what you have plugged into your USB port or what bluetooth devices have beed detected. I suppose we could remember the name of the connection and select it again if we find it during our scan. I will add that to a TODO list.
I am still mystified why the scope type wouldn't be remembered though.
OK, I take that back. We do store the connection name just as I suggested. All I can think of is that you never close the scope panel. If you make a change and exit the app without closing the panel, these settings will not get stored. It is the act of closing the panel (or connecting to a scope) that stores them.
Bill, you are right : SS6 remembers the scope type (I just checked it after closing the panel, quitting SS6 and re-opening SS6)
But in my hands it doesn't remember the connection type : in my case it should be "usbserial" and not "WiFi or Ethernet"

Does the full name of the usbserial-xxxxxxxx entry stay the same from run to run? All I can think of is that the xxxxxxx part varies each time it is plugged in. That would cause it to not be found and default to Wi-Fi.
No, the name is always the same : usbserial-A104WRIX
I have attached two screenshots done in the same conditions : one with Starry Night 8 Pro Plus, the other with SS6 Pro
It works with SN8 (scope name + connection name) , not with SS6 (scope name but not connection name)
Hope this helps
