Why, When Skipping Days, Months, Or Years, In SkySafari 6 Pro, Do Other Times Change? (Answer: When You Skip One Month SS Adds 30 Days, Etc)

I've long wondered why, when skipping days, months, or years, other times change.  For example, when I skip ahead 1 month, the days often change.  When I skip forward 1 year at a time and do this several times, days and hours change.  Sometimes when skipping ahead in days, the hours change.  This seems like a programming mistake, but I could be missing something?

Maybe the hours can be explained by daylight savings time.  The months seems to be skipping 31 days every time, which doesn't give the desired effect.  Maybe the year skips are also sipping 365 days and every 4 the leap year is bringing it backwards a day.

It seems that if I'm trying to go to a date, let's say July 16, 1994, and I'm already on today's date with the day highlighted, and I skip ahead to 16th, then I go to month and go backwards to last July, now I'm on July 21, then I set 21 back to 16, then I go to year and set it to 1994, now I'm on July 22, 1994 so I have to set days to 16 a 3rd time.  Why can't 1 month be one month and one day be one day and one year be one year, leaving all other fields alone?  Thanks

    Chris,

When we skip by a month, we literally add 30 days to the time.  No attempt is made to jump to the next month, staying on the same day.  To be honest, I don't recall if that was done on purpose or if we were being a bit lazy way back when.  It has been this way since Skysafari 1.0.

Can we please get this fixed in the next release of SkySafari? An option for the tropical year would be nice as well. Not being able to use the time simulation without slipping dates and times has long been my biggest frustration with SkySafari.
