I just used the planner to do a search of all object types, from mag 14-15, restricted to the PGC catalog, and my results came back with 10,000 stars and double stars that don't show PGC in their catalog numbers under basic information.
I expected to get nearly every NGC/IC, as well as a few thousand PGCs that are NOT in the NGC/IC catalog. It would be really cool if we could exclude a category as well, so give me all PGC's that are NOT in either the NGC of IC catalog, maybe by being able to add a minus (-NGC, -IC) in the restrict to catalogs field.
This is using SS Pro 6.1.0.34 on my Samsung Galaxy S10 with Android 9.

Keiron Smith Hi Chris,
Just to clarify. Are you reporting that the you requested search results of ONLY objects in the PGC catalog, and received 10,000 stars that are not PGC objects?
Please also post your ideas for improved search capabilities in the feature request form.
Thanks!

Chris Yes, my search was supposed to be restricted to the PGC catalog but many many results, when you click info, do not show a PGC designation.

Bill Tschumy Chris,
I can reproduce this and we will look into it. Right off hand I don't know what is going on.

Bill Tschumy Actually, I though I could reproduce it, but maybe not. What are the types of objects you have checked in the search?
It does look like if you have Stars checked and say to restrict it to the PGC catalog, you do get a bunch of stars returned. This probably shouldn't be happening. It may be that the catalog restriction only applies to the type of objects in that catalog (galaxies in this case). I didn't write this code so I'm not sure. I'll try to look into it.
If you only search for Galaxies, you do only get PGC galaxies returned, so at least that is working as designed.

Chris I think the stars is the problem. I can uncheck it if the rest is working just fine, just didn't know if that same problem was being applied elsewhere. Thanks for looking into it.
