Hi,
I much prefer the use of your software (Sky Safari 6 Pro) over the use of the Celestron Evolution hand controller for alignment and issuing goto commands. However, this appears to present a problem when trying to use the plate solving feature contained within the SharpCap 3.2 Pro software that I use for imaging. This plate solving feature depends on knowing where the mount is supposed to be pointing, which it obtains via a USB cable attached to the scope's hand controller. Since the alignment model and goto positions are known only within Sky Safari (for an alignment done with Sky Safari), the mount does not have the correct telescope goto position. Hence the plate solving either fails (because the mount-referenced position is too far away from where the telescope is actually pointing, or if it is close enough for plate solving to work, it will center the wrong object since the goto object is not known by the mount.
Is there any way to get this to work? For example, if there was a way to input the Sky Safari goto pointing coordinates manually into SharpCap (there isn't currently), would this be enough to allow plate solving to work? Or could there be some way to feed Sky Safari's position data back to the mount?
Thank you for any help you might be able to provide with this.
