Recently I had a great experience tracking and imaging asteriod 1999kw4 or 66931. Thanks to the very accurate tracking in sky Safari 5 plus it was really fun and successful.
My problem is finding Asteriods seems to be different than expected. When I go to the asteriod list there are only named objects listed. There are no objects with the provisional designations or numbers. Furthermore oddly enough I was able to find 1999kw4 by using the assignment number 66931. I cannot tell what data file it was found in but I know it wasn't in the asteriod file. What am I missing? I am on the search for another object this weekend and even after updating the data I don't find it.
