Running a MacBook, did (and want to use) SkySafari Pro 6. Purchased a StarSense which took away my RS232 control port when I swiped the StarSense control for the original (so I can't hook my MacBook up direct via RS232 now). Celestron mount NexStar SE(6) has no usb port. Also have a Celestron GPS accessory, and an aux port splitter. So, million dollar question which I could not find a complete answer to above...how do I enable the SkyFi III so I can use my MacBook and SkySafari Pro 6 to control the scope, and, use my shinny new StarSense. Currently I have the the Starsense plugged into the AUX port splitter, along with the GPS (as per the instructions), and I hooked my SkyFi III from the standard USB to the StarSense mini USB. I'm assuming, that after I use StarSense to align, I can flash up the WiFi and control the mount using my MacBook. Am I close? After reading all the post related to this stuff, I am now afraid to turn on my scope and try this configuration. Help please....

Keiron Smith Hi John,
- Turn on your Celestron 6 SE
- Use the Celestron StarSense hand controller to align the mount
- Turn on SkyFi 3 and connect to its WiFi network via your Macbook
- In SkySafari 6 Pro configure the telescope setup to use Connection WiFi, autodetect SkyFi, and ScopeType Celestron SE
- Connect within the SkySafari 6 Pro app
Great setup, I have the same!
Thanks!

John DeMario Saddy this does not allow you to align the scope using SSP6, nor when you are done with the alignment does SSP6 accurately point the mount. You have to constantly use the hand controller for find your object, (which it does very well), then select that same objet in SSP6, and use the "align" feature on the scope control. Essentially, I've found after three 4 hour long attempts that SSP6 is way way off when you connect to the scope after alignment. And, if you are attempting to view larger swaths of the sky, controlling the scope from SSP6 is virtually useless. So, besides the obvious that the wifi alignment is not supported, anybody have a rational with a fix as to why after an accurate HC alignment SSP6 has no idea where the scope is actually pointed? Hate to say this, but SKyX has no such problem....only pain with it is lack of wifi compatibility.
