Celestron nexstar evo 8" will not track

I have a new Celestron Evo 8" and straight out of the box (after setup and successful 3 star alignement) it will not track. I have tried sky safari 6 plus, skyportal and hand controller. I have gone into menu and turned tracking on/off several times. but no luck.  I have spoken to shop where scope was purchased for advice. They have concluded there must be a fault in the equipment. Before i lug the mount back to shop which is a full day return trip for me, I am hoping some one can give advice on the problem and a fix. Thank you in advance.
