Hi, I purchased the sky wire lightning, sky safari 6 and the serial cable from sky commander directly, and attempted to use it tonight with my iPad 6 and iPhone X. I get a message upon connecting and disconnecting the sky wire, that it’s recognizing the iPad/iPhone but upon trying to connect to sky safari I get an error message, that the scope is not responding. I have the rj11 wire connected to aux2 as instructed by skytracker. I selected Starmaster sky tracker as my scope type and alt-az. goto as my mount type. The scope slews and drives properly when operating from sky commander. I am also able to connect a wifi device (scope comm2) to the sky tracker so I know my unit is operating correctly but wifi drops out so much that I want to use the SkyWire as it sounds much more reliable. Is there a wiring diagram for the SkyWire so Im certain its configured correctly?? Is the wiring the same as Skyfi? If so my serial cable is currently wired as your website recommends. Could my SkyWire be defective?? Please help!

Keiron Smith Hi Robert,
Just to clarify. You are saying you can successfully connect to and control your scope using SkySafari 6 Pro and a WiFi Device (Scope Comm2)?
Thanks!

Rtbco Yes that is correct. The problem is that that WiFi device disconnects randomly.

Keiron Smith - Are you using SkyFi 3?
- What is the WiFi device?
- Do you plug the SkyWire + Serial Cable into the same port that you plug the WiFi device?

Rtbco I ordered a SKiyFi 3 yesterday. I was using a WiFi device called Scope Comm 2, but was experiencing constant dropped connections. I plugged the Skywire into the same port (aux 2) as the wifi setup but the scope was not recognized using the same settings. I have a new Skywire coming to see if the one I currently have is the issue.

Keiron Smith Hi Robert,
Please review this document:

SkyFi 3 is rock solid. Once it is working you can return the SkyWire units.
