Here is an add-on feature that I would be willing to pay extra for as as upgrade: a telescope pointing model built into SkySafari. The pointing model would sit in between SkySafari and the scope under control. As the user synchronizes to target after target during the observing session, the accumulated data will improve the pointing model and consequently the accuracy of GOTO slews.
For well-mounted scopes, this will take GOTO from the level of good to exceptional. For poorly-mounted scopes, or for example where you are constrained to one-star alignment and it would be very time consuming to get the telescope level perfect, the pointing model would turn poor GOTO accuracy into good GOTO accuracy.
A similar arrangement is already possible with Starry Night and MaxPoint from Diffraction Limited, on the PC, but this can't be replicated on an iPad yet. I can see this being a must-have upgrade, even at US$100 a license.
