Starry Night Pro Plus 8.0.6 Export SkyView > As Image Creates Skewed Image On macOS (Answer: Use macOS Screenshot Function Until Issue Is Fixed In Next Update - Read On!)

Hello,

I have starry night pro 8. For the first time I am having problems exporting images from start night pro. The images are bloated and are not centered on the screen as it appears in starry night. I have a screen shot of my desktop showing the original image and I have a screen shot of the image that was exported from starry night 8.

The image is not centered when exported as it appears in starry night and it appears to be larger when exported. When I exported images from prior versions of starry night I did not have these issues.

I also tried setting everything to default in starry night, then exporting but that did not work. I tried zooming out in starry night then exporting, that did not work.

    Hello,

Update. I am writing again to let you know that the problem is with starry night pro 8.0.6. I uninstalled 8.0.6 and reinstalled 8.0. I was able to export an image successfully in starry night 8.0. The exported image was depicted as displayed in the desktop. I then upgraded back to 8.0.6 and tried to export an image and the issue reoccured, not centered, expanded and unviewable.

So at this point I am stuck without being able to create images for my work and presentations. I hope this can be resolved ASAP because I rely on Starry Night Pro.

    Hello,

In addition to the failure, I forgot to let know that I  am on Mac OS Catalina. Hoping this can be taken care of ASAP.

    HI Andre,

Until we release an update with a fix for the Export SkyView > As Image issue please just use the macOS built-in screenshot function - which is essentially the same thing.

    Command + Shift + 4

    Thanks!

    Hello,

I am not sure if anyone has reported this issue in Starry Night Pro 8.06, Mac OSX Catalina 10.15.4. I am using a MacBook Pro 16 with the highest specs. Similar to the issue above when exporting a video using File > Export Sky View > As a Movie.  There is a highlighted box that shows up in the lower left area of the Quicktime during recordings. Is there a fix? See Attached screenshot recoded movie. Highlighted box in the lower left appears. I was trying to record the entire screen. Thanks, Andre Ficklin

Hi any fix for this for exporting photos and video?

I'm on SN Pro Plus 8.0.6.1978 with MacOS 10.15.6.

I still only get the bottom left of the screen when using these features. We can use screen cap for photos, but no so easy for video.

    Thanks!
