Is Anyone Having Issues Importing .Skylist Files On SkySafari 6 Pro On Android 8, 9 Or 10? (Answer: Works For Me On Android 10)

I have in the past been able to email my skylist and then long press them to import in sky safari 6 pro. However recently I've noticed my android 7 and 9 devices. Samsung smt713 and smt813 android 7 and my samsung smt820 android 9 will not import. When i try to manually link with the skylist file android reports no compatible app on my device can open the skylist and will not allow me to manual link.

Any suggestion?

Thanks

I managed to get my android 7 devices to work by reinstalling SS6p.  However my Android 9 device (samsung smt820 tablet) will not import a skylist.  The OS keeps reporting there are no compatible apps for that file extension.   Maybe something to do with SS6p "intent filter" not being compatible with android 9.

I can import from online repository but not an email attachment or local file using the file browser.  Is there a way to manually steer SS6p to the file?

These are screen shots of android 7 and 9  "Set As Default"  settings.   Notice android 7 states "This app is set to open by default for some actions"   whereas Android 9 has "none set as default".

Did you try the instructions in the Help > Migrating from SS5 to SS6? If I remember correctly, it should just be copying the files from one directory to another, or just saving an emailed skylist file into the proper SS6 directory and then opening the app.

I can move the skylist file to SS6 subfolder "Observing list" and it works.   However file type linking does not.

    Great, glad that worked.

    Jb5422,

Why don't you use LiveSky to sync your skylists across different devices running SS6 Pro?

    Thanks!

    "Why don't you use Livesky?"

I'm already juggling over 500 user id/ password protected accounts, I don't want more.    Besides I don't generate more than half dozen observation lists a year, so the email function is perfect for me.

    SS6Pro 6.6.4.10 on S10 + Android 10 imports .skylist fine.

I did have to first allow access to photos, media, and files.
