How Many Stars And Galaxies Do You Get With The SkySafari Pro GAIA & PGC Extension IAPs? (Answer: Read On!)

I have seen some articles that imply the PGC galaxy extension also gives you some additional stars.  Is this true and, if so, are these extra (in addtion) to the GAIA extension?

  I guess this is where I am confused "We Have The Best Stars. Precise, modern and deep. We’ve updated our star catalog to use the latest and greatest, UCAC5 star catalog. If 25 million stars down to 15th magnitude isn’t enough for you, an easy in-app purchase gets you down to 16.5 magnitude and a whopping 100 million stars!". I see a GAIA extension but not a UCAC5 extension so I thought maybe more stars came with PGC.  When they talk about UCAC5 are they referring to GAIA?

  If you look at the comparison chart you will see the following:

  UCAC5 Star Database Extension (Pro IAP) - 109,446,575

  PGC Galaxy Database Extension (Pro IAP) - 3,413,708
