Hi Bill

 

this is Brian from Losmandy - we've been using Sky Safari with an ethernet connection, and while it works great, there appears to be occasional delays when doing certain tasks while connected to the telescope. if you can contact me directly, we'd be happy work with you on this. We could also loan you a G11/Gemini if you think that would help.

  also just to clarify, by 'delay' i mean the sky safari app seems to freeze for maybe 1-2 seconds, and then works great. during those 1-2 seconds, you can't use gestures, move around in the screen, click on things, etc.

  any update on that?

   

  FYI this freezing happens when connected via TCP through a router. there is no serial connection (i.e., SkyFi, etc.) 

   

  wondering if it relates to how TCP is implemented and if so, would UDP be a better choice there

  Thanks Ros. Just to clarify, it connects and works great, just has this intermittent freezing (a few seconds)
