[UX Issue]* How Come SkySafari 6 Pro Location Services Is Not Working On macOS 10.15.3?

I am running SkySafari 6 Pro v6.4.0 on a Mid 2015 MacBook Pro (Retina) now running MacOS 10.15.3 (Catalina).  I can't seem to get Location Services to recognize SkySafari.  If I go to system Preferences -> Privacy -> Location Services and toggle authorization for SkySafari 6 Pro off and on a few times it still won't let SkySafari to allow me to select "current location".  I can manually set the location.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi David,

Please upgrade to macOS 10.15.4 and verify that the location issue still exists.

Manually, you can create a new location via Observe > Sites > [+] > Use Current Location / Choose From List / Choose From Map

Choosing for the list will work regardless of location services.

    Thanks!

Ok, I upgraded to 10.15.4.  Same situation though.  I cannot get location services and SkySafari to play together.  How about I re-install SkySafari?  Anything other than just dragging the app to the trash?

Did you try to create a new location via Observe > Sites > [+] > Choose From List ?

    Thanks!

As I mentioned in the original post, that works fine.  It's just the "use current location" button that fails.

I have the same problem. I have a new MacBook Pro and when I click on Use Current Location it gives me the "...not authorized to access your location" error msg. I'm even using Cataline 10.15.5 and no luck.

    Hi Julie,

    Please try re-installing the app.

    Thanks!

Yes.  This is still not fixed.  After re-installing the app.  Workaround is still to manually input location coordinates.

    Hi, here's a fix:

    0) make sure Lication Services are enabled for SkySafari

    1) quit SkySafari

    2) delete the SkySafari folder ~/Library/Containers

this will result a fresh start for the app, any settings etc. will be deleted. You are starting from scratch.

Hey, that finally worked!  I suspect the missing piece I needed was that there are some additional bits in the ~/Library/Containers folder.  Merely removing the app from the Applications folder apparently doesn't clean everything out.  Go ahead and close this ticket.

Thanks for taking another look at this issue.

    Dave.
