Meade LX200 GPS firmware update

I'm trying to update the firmware in a LX200 GPS using SkyFi and the virtual serial port from COM2TCP.  I can connect to the scope with the AutoStar Updater program just fine.  It reads the scope memory and firmware version.  However once I select the update firmware and start the update it fails.

- Has anyone been able to update firmware using SkyFi and a virtual serial port? (my laptop doesn't have a serial port and I don't have access to a USB to serial adapter)

- Any recommendations?

I realize this is not a SkySafari question but there is no SkyFi topic category...

    Have you ever updated your scope before?

    No this was the first time.  However I was able to update it using StarPatch.  It loaded without an issue.

    Cool glad to hear that. I just updated mine the other day using serial to usb cable and the Meade RS232 cable.Here's a video of that method.
