SkySafari 6

I have had minor stability issues with SkySafari in the past. Recently, they have intensified to the point that I can hardly get it to run.

The usual scenario is for SS to start up, and take perhaps one user input, and then freeze. After a few minutes, I get a message "SkySafari has stopped. Do you want to wait or shut down?"

I have SkySafari 6 Plus on an LG Aristo, SkySafari 6 Pro on a Nexus 7 tablet, SkySafari 6 Pro on a Revvl 5049W, and SkySafari 6 Pro on an iPhone 6.

The problem is the same with all of these SS versions and all these devices, so I am thinking that there is a bug in my user data.

I am thinking of removing Sky Safari 6 Pro from my Nexus 7, reinstalling it, and then putting the tablet into the "Airplane mode", so it doesn't download any user data from the cloud. If this works, maybe the user data can be repaired. I have a lot of Observing Lists, and don't want to simply scrap them.

Do you think that I'm on the right track? I'm open to all suggestions.

I thought it would be good to look at my Observing Lists.  I noticed one with 10,000 entries, probably from trying out the Planner function.

On my "good" device, I deleted this giant list, along with a couple of other large lists.  In a short time the other devices were updated over the cloud, and they all work fine now.

So, I have a few ideas to fix this:

    1. Repair the code so that a large Observation List doesn't cause a freeze, or

    2. Give the user a warning if an excessively large list is proposed, or

    3. Limit the maximum list size.

So, I'm smiling again and waiting for a clear night.
