Previously was unable to stay connected using SkySafari6 Pro with Skyfi3 on SkyWatcher AZ/EQ 6 Pro using iPad Pro Gen 3. I reported this to you earlier on another ticket (58069). This seemed to be an issue with IPADOS 13.5 and when the OS for the iPad Pro was updated to 13.6, I had full functionality of the combination above until Apple updated the OS to IPADOS 14.0 and subsequent 14.0.1. Back to losing connection like before. Don't know what changed between the updates, but apparently something has. Any idea what is going on?

Keiron Smith Hi Mercado,
I have successfully connected using SkySafari 6 Pro + SkyFi 3 on iOS 14.0.1. But, you need to confirm the following. Please also look under:
iOS Settings > Privacy > Local Network
Thanks!

Mercado Gregory Keiron,
Did check the iOS setting and. SafariPro was listed and selected. Never saw that pop up shown in your text above. I am able to use my wife’s mini IPAD with 14.0.1, but again after the update to 14.0, lost functionality. The following pop ups occurs when I attempt to connect. Initial connects for less than a minute then I get, “connection failure. The telescope is not. Responding. You have been disconnected. Do you want to re-connect? I press connect and then receive the following, Connection failure. SkySafari 6 Pro can’t make a wireless network connection to the scope. Make sure you’ve joined it’s WiFi network and entered its IP address correctly.. This is identical to what happened in the pass that was resolved with the OS update prior to 14.0. -
Keiron Smith Sorry, Mercado, you're not clear about the issue.
You can OR can not use your wife's iPad Mini running iOS 14.0.1?
How do you get back to the initial connection, where you connect for one minutes, if the error message after connection drop does not allow you to connect again? You report as though you can do this repeatedly; i.e, connect, drop, fail to connect.
And, please check your SkyFi 3 battery is fully charged.
Thanks!

Mercado Gregory Keiron,
Sorry for the miscommunication. Yes, the SkySafari 6 Pro, Skyfi 3, IPAD Mini (14.0.1 OS) works flawlessly with the mount. The connection drop issue, as before, is with the IPAD Pro generation 3 when used with SkySafari 6 Pro, Skyfi3, and Skywatcher az-eq6 pro mount. The Skyfi3 is fully charged. In order for me to repeat the short (less than 1 min) connection after an error msg requires that I turn off the IPAD Pro’s WiFi for a couple of minutes and then turn it on selecting Skifi to connect. It will again connect for a short time and then disconnect repeating the same two error msgs.

Keiron Smith If SkySafari 6 Pro, Skyfi 3, IPAD Mini (14.0.1 OS) works flawlessly with the mount then I don't see how this is an issue with SkySafari 6 Pro or SkyFi 3.
Thanks for the details!

Mercado Gregory Keiron,
There is an issue, if you want to use SkySafari 6 Pro, Skyfi 3 with IPAD Pro generation three which has a larger workspace. I do believe this may be an issue with the OS 14.0.1 with the Pro, which is technically different than the mini. Sorry to bother you with this issue. You won’t be hearing from me as either a past customer or a future one. -
Keiron Smith I agree, looks like an issue with iOS 14.0.1 and the iPad Pro Gen 3, an issue that could be unrelated to SkySafari & SkyFi 3. Not sure what can be done at this time, except wait for more reports, and wait for Apple to rollout another iOS update. Feel free to disagree.
Thanks!

james schultz Just had the same issue with ios 14.1 and celestron skyportal v3,, I had to go into settings and tell it to give skysafari access to the network. It ask a misleading question if you want to give it access to search your network. and I said no.. then no connect. I am using a ipad pro but think it is gen 1 or 2 2017 version. nice to look on here and get the help to fix it fast. Only lost about 10 minutes of viewing
