How To Connect SkyFi 3 + SkySafari 5 Pro + Starmaster Sky Commander? (Answer: Read On!)

Hi,

I'm trying to get back into Astronomy now that life has settled down a bit for me (less traveling), but I'm trying to use my 20" Starmaster Telescope with SkySafari 5 and SkyFi 3. Can someone please tell me how to hook all of this up so I can use it... or send me the diagram of what gets hooked up to what?

  Hi David,

  This (old) document provides instructions for connecting the SkyFi wireless serial adapter to a Starmaster SkyTracker telescope controller, and for connecting to the whole system from the SkyVoyager iPhone app (and should still be valid for SkySafari 5/6 Pro.

  And near the top it says...

  Building a SkyFi-to-SkyTracker Serial Cable

  The AUX2 port has the same configuration as the computer port (RJ11) of the Sky Commander. That is, while looking directly at the port, the pin out is (left to right):

  So, I'm assuming there is overlap.  I don't know enough about SkyTracker & Sky Commander to say more.
