Highlight Objects toggle switch absent from Search box Safari 7.6.6 / ios 18.7

The "Highlight Objects" toggle switch is completely absent from the Search dialogue box in Sky Safari 7.6.6 / ios 18.7; the only thing there is a brief line describing the sort option selected.  Deleting the app and reloading it had no effect. I'm unable to display any list of objects from Search. Everything was nominal before recent update.
