Brightest Comets Shows Incorrect Data (Solution: Update The Minor Body Orbit Data Again - It Has Been Fixed)

SkySafari 8 Pro Samsung Galaxy A9+ Android 16 Hi Folks, Some eggregious errors on comet designations & magnitudes in SkySafari 8 Pro In looking in the Search > Brightest Comets, the top entry is for a comet with a designation that seems like it might be an ASCII rending of non-text binary:12,0,U41948,...(many more characters follow). It's listed as being in Coma Bernices (correct, I believe), but with the absurd magnitude value -1036.5 ! The remaining entries are similarly incorrect. I was checking for a date in the future, 20 June. To ensure this wasn't something just due to future time, I checked tonight and got the same information. Out of curiousity, I checked on an older tablet that only has version 6 of SkySafari Pro (older Android version won't support 7 or 8). The info is slightly different, but the first few are clearly erroreous. None of the other categories under the Search option seem to be affected. The install of SkySafari 8 Pro on my Samsung Gallexy A32 5G; Android 13 was apparently incomplete earlier this evening and showed good data after completing the install, but now, after starting the app again several hours later, is showing the first comet entry as having -3290 magnitude (interestingly, the same comet listed at -1036 on the tablet). Same bad data after restarting app & even shut down phone and turned back on--still messed up comet data. I attempted an Uninstall/Install on the phone. I'm not sure it really uninstalled and did not reload the data files. So I'm not sure that will work either. Is there any way within the app to reload the data? Or is this perhaps a bug in the software or, I don't know what? Thanks for anything you can tell me. John

Ok. I figured out that I muffed up the Uninstall/Install on the A32 phone (I mistakenly told it to remove it from another device--oops, my A9+ tablet). When done properly, it did reload the data. It now lists Tempel 2 as the first entry in the comet list with the believable magnitude of 10.1. After restarting the phone (to ensure the app would start afresh), it still looks good for now. But on the tablet (Galaxy A9+), I will find out what I lost in terms of observing lists and scope control. Rats!

Yup. Lost my lists and scope setups. But so far, the comet data (and all the other Search category data as well) is correct. A frustrating way to fix the issue.

The Minor Body Orbit data was corrupted yesterday, but it was fixed yesterday as well.
