How To Use The Hibernate Feature With SkySafari And Celestron Evolution

After night of observing… 1. Turned on hibernate in scope settings 2. Slewed scope to vertical position and covered for overnight storage 3. Tapped Disconnect, then was prompted to Hibernate again. Next night, started Sky Safari and  tapped Connect , then tapped wake up.  Performed a GOTO on Vega and it was out of FOV , although scope was pointed at general vicinity - the  previous night everything I had  slewed to/observed  was perfectly centered.  Scope was not bumped or moved. First time attempting to use this feature. Evolution 8 HD with StarSense SkySafari 8 Plus 8.0.3 iOS 26.5

  Did you verify whether there are any Celestron settings that need to be enabled?

  From Celestron.com

  Hibernate allows you to retain the alignment of your scope when it’s completely powered down. Use it if you know the mount won't be disturbed between observing sessions. It's found under Utilities > Hibernate.

  FYI: The Hibernate function worked OK 👍 last night.
