Compass mode jerking back and forth horizontally

I just upgraded from SkySafari 6 Pro.  SkySafari Pro in compass mode continues to work perfectly on my Samsung Flip 7 phone.   However, SkySafari 8 Pro jerks back and forth horizontally.  I went through the figure 8 and movements calibration .. but in compass mode in the new version 8 pro still jerks back and forth horizontally.  Version 8 is supposed to be an upgrade, right?  Is there something I can do to fix this in version 8 ?  Thanks.

  Please provide the following:

  1. App and version.  See Help > scroll to the bottom.
  2. Android OS.
  3. Device make and model.
  4. A link to a screen recording that demonstrates this issue clearly.
