I have another suggestion for improvement: An option to not display the Identify icon when you select an object. This aggravated me during the course of my observing session. I like to select an object to display the dashed circle around it, to make it easier to keep track of an object when I'm star hopping to it. But the Identify icon next to the object just gets in the way and obscures the view of background stars. I can always go down to the Select menu and then Identify for information on the object, or to perform other tasks. I don't need the Identify icon popping up next to the target object. For me, the Identify icon is not an improvement to SkySafari. It's an aggravating feature I don't need. I'd like to be able to keep it from popping up.
Sometimes I ended up selecting a star well beyond the field of view so I would not have to see the Identify icon. Then I would have to remember where the actual target object was in the chart. Not very efficient.
I like the chart to be as clean and unencumbered as possible.
