In addition to the beta testing I am carrying out on 1029 on my iPad (8th Generation) iPadOS 15.1, I have purchased the latest App Store release (1027) for use on an older iPad Air 2 also updated to iPadOS 15.1. Often, although not every time, it crashes about six seconds into start up. When I check for active Apps this is a screenshot of what I see i.e. the App seems to be active but the iPad display shows the Home Screen with App icons.

Pedro Braganca Hi Ed, can you install 1030 in your iPad Air 2? does the crash happen then? Thank you!

Ed Wilson Hi Pedro,
It seems that I am allowed to run only a single copy of the latest revision in the beta test programme via TestFlight (unless I misunderstood the TestFlight messaging).
When the introductory offer for SS7 (1027) was publicised I immediately bought it from the App Store for my old but still very performing iPad.
Best wishes, Ed
PS after the crash as described, I find that tapping on the App on the screen that I uploaded, it does open correctly…….

Keiron Smith Ed,
You can run either the beta or the public release but not both on one iOS device.
You should be able to download TestFlight to any second iOS device that uses the same Apple account and install another beta on that second device.
Instead of the Pro beta you can also download the Plus beta for testing; i.e. you can have Pro (public release) and Plus (beta) running on the same iOS device.
Thank!

Ed Wilson So on a fresh attempt with TestFlight on my iPad Air 2 tonight I was able this time to install SS7 Pro 1030 as a fresh download which replaced/updated my public release retail version 1027.
I have started the App six times so far with no sign of the crashing!
I’ll leave off now and carry on the test again in the morning.
