Now Failing AGAIN. SF7 Ascom Alpaca Connection To ASCOM REMOTE

ARRRR

My SF7 connection to Ascom Remote on my PC is Broken again!

It has ben working great for two days.

This afternoon I was trying to create a SF7 log file per Ros's request, on the Ipad to see if anything was logged when I tried to connect SF7 to WiFiScope.

Now this evening when I try to connect SF7 via my Ascom Alpaca setting , to Ascom Remote on my PC , SF7 fails to connect.

Nothing else has changed.

So. as I stated in my other posting, see (SF7 does not connect to CGX mount- WHAT settings will work?)  How do I get the SF7 log file off the Ipad and to you.

Even more interesting. How can trying to cannect to WiFiScope break the Ascom Alpaca connection?

Help

    Update.

I just finished connecting /disconnecting multiple times from my 2nd PC through Ascom Diag  to Ascom Remote on my 1st PC.
The Ipad (SF7 ) refuses to connect to Ascom Remote. with SF7 error logging off or on . does not seem to make a difference.

I also tried with Ascom Remote set with device Ascom Telescope Simulator.net.  no connection from SF7

I was also able to access the SF7 log files on my Ipad.

With SF7 logging on, when I try to connect to Ascom Remote on my PC, NO log file is created.

    To experiment. I created a 2nd Preset

      Mount type   Equatorial Goto

      Scope type   Celestron Avx/CGX/Cgem/CGX

When I try to connect to my mount with this preset SF7 DOES create a log file. But it is empty.

I have been able to complete the connection via ASCOM Remote again.

I uninstalled SF7 and reinstalled it.

Maybe on of the last setup questions on the Ipad was the cause of this issue?

It asked for permission to access devices on the network.

I know for sure I answered YES this time.

But that does not explain why I was able to use Ascom for a few days then it stopped working again.

I will see if this load stays stable and continues to allow connection to Ascom Remote.

I will report here every week for a while or sooner if it fails again.

    Keeping my fingers crossed.

    take care

Thank you Steve.  Might be one of those situations where we need enough data points to figure out the issue. Keep us updated.
