Can I See The Panorama Horizon When Using The Telescope In Equatorial Mode? (Answer: No - Read On!)

Why is there no horizon when using equatorial coordinates? I was using SF Pro6, and I thought this was a huge oversight. I looked for all possible switches that might turn a horizon on.   I then upgraded to 7, (for which I thought I would get some $$ credit for a 6->7 upgrade, but no...) and I figured this problem would be fixed. A few more tick marks on the meridian line, and a slightly nicer presentation, but still no horizon in the mode I use with my telescope!   Also, would it be so hard to put up coordinates for equatorial and horizon at the same time, and for both the center of the screen AND the cursor of object? More info, not less! When I am driving a telescope I need this stuff to make sure my tube doesn't crash into my mount. Very disappointed....

Even this form doesn't have version 7 on it!!!

    Robert,

Sorry, but we only display the horizon in Horizon coordinates (Alt-Az).  If we showed it in equatorial coordinates it would be slanted at strange angles and even be upside down.

    Thanks!

Equatorial coordinates has very little to do with the horizon display.  It's all about coordinate transformation, which obviously this program does.  You know where I am standing, why can't you display the horizon?  If you can show it in alt-az, you can show it in RA & DEC.
