How To Connect Starry Night Pro 8 + Windows 10 + Ascom + Meade LX200? (User Needs Community Support)

When trying to connect 12 inch LX200 to starry night pro 8 with serial to usb cord starry night 8 pro says port does not exist

The computer is running windows 10 and device manager shows and accepts when the cord is plugged in and shows as working properly

In configeration in starry night I entered the same port number that device manager shows which is com 4 which only comes up when the cord is plugged in

The ascom platform also shows the same thing the the port does not exist

I am going absolutely crazy trying to work out the problem I have googled the problem countless times and have not found a solution

    On Windows 10, Starry Night connect and controls your telescope via Ascom.  Resolve the port issue via Ascom and Starry Night will be able to connect to your scope.

    Thanks for your reply Keiron but I can not think of anymore useless advice telling me if I resolve the issues the telescope will work.  ??????????????  wow

    Do you have another software program to use to test whether the you can control the scope?

    Have you tried a different port number?

    Do you have another way of testing the USB cable is working properly?
