Choosing pre-configured Scope Display combinations of equipment when creating an observation

Hello.

I've been using Sky Safari 6 on Android now for some time, and I think I'm getting the hang of it.  I'm especially using it for recording observations via my phone or tablet while I'm outside, sometimes alone and sometimes in a group. For this I've found it very useful except that one of the most frustrating bits has been with entering equipment against an observation.

For example, I'll look at something with 10x50 binoculars and record an observation.  Then I'll point my 10" dob at it with a particular eyepiece, and record an observation. Then I'll switch to another eyepiece and record an observation.  Then I'll go to someone else's telescope and their different eyepiece and record an observation. Then I'll look at something else with my 10x50 binoculars. Then I'll go back to the telescope and go through another three eyepieces.

When creating an observation Sky Safari likes to default equipment to exactly what was used for the previous observation, so it seems the most click-efficient way to record observations would be in order of equipment - first recording all observations made with my 10" dob and 25mm eyepiece, then all observations with my 10" dob and 12mm eyepiece, then all my observations with 10x50 binoculars. I don't observe that way, though. For each observation I tend to find myself doing click-delete click-delete click-plus-choose_telescope click-plus-choose_eyepiece. It's time consuming and every so often I mess up and accidentally leave the wrong equipment on an observation anyway.

What I think I'd really like to be able to do, each time I create a new observation, is to choose a pre-configured combination of equipment, because there are really only three or four combinations in total that I'll probably be using, and presently it's just annoying trying to change between them all the time with so many different bits to change. When I choose it, all other equipment on the observation should simply be fully replaced with the combination I'm choosing.

In fact, I've already defined all of the combinations I care about within the Scope Display configuration, which Sky Safari uses for letting me choose which field(s) of view to project over the map.  If there were a way in the observation screen to simply point at one of those combinations, and have it apply to the observation I'm entering, I think it'd save a lot of time and clicking.

Anyway, that's just a thought that's come to mind and I hope it might be considered as a feature request.

Thanks.

Mike.
