How To Align And Lock Onto The Sun For Solar Observing? (Answer: Read On!)

Since tracking (Lock) on any object requires a three point alignment when viewing the night sky, how do i lock onto the Sun
when doing daytime viewing since the Sun is the only object in the sky?  I would think the logic would be simply to align at 0minutes,
then 5 minutes, then 10 minutes or some timeframes like that for the mount to know how it's tracking.

Can't find any help on it anywhere in SkySafari.

thank!

    i don't have an equatorial mount :(

But apparently the hand controller on my Celestron Nextar scope has the option. lots of instructions out there for that.

but i was hoping to do it from SkySafari 7 pro

    thank you for the input.

If you are using Celestron WiFi then maybe the solar alignment is an option available in-app via SS7 Celestron scope control options.

If you are using SkyFi 3 the mount must be aligned first.
