[Scope Control]* Celestron WiFi Crashes App When Trying To Make Access Point Connection

 

I got a new tablet, Lenovo P12 Pro, and sky safari 7 pro, im ready to help with bugs!

First Light with tablet, sky safari pro 7   

AVX mount -Celestron Wifi v3 -Starsense   

celestron wifi, Access point mode  3 second timeout, 4 readout rate, send date and time-  saved preset

I hit CONNECT  and it  successfully connects to the scope, showing under the horizon and to the north, thats fine.  After about 2 seconds a CRASH to android main screen. App reopens with Splash screen, repeatable 

Sky safari is the only app open.

Im going to try to find where the log files are saved and will report

    7.0.2 is out, try it first.

    To get a log go to Settings > Help and scroll to the bottom. I emailed them to myself then sent them on when asked to.

    Hi mike! Im looking in the google play store and there are no updates available, App info is showing 7.0.1.1 still 

    further testing with 7.0.1.1 after i made the post

    direct connect seems to connect and not crash the app. 

    in addition SSPRO6 works with access point mode and direct connect

    May take a while for Play to show the update. It's a Google thing......

    when i click on the Help question mark on the scope settings page (tilt to slew, save log file)   it gives me a blank page with the android guy in top left corner.

    Please provide screenshots of the Celestron WiFi preset configuration.

    You said "direct connect seems to connect and not crash the app. "  So, this issue is related to a preset using "Access Point"?

    Help > Scroll to the bottom > Email Log Report

    SSPro7 hasn't updated  but it seems to be working now in regards to access point mode.  I did nothing other then a brief DIRECT connection last night.  Today, hooked everything up to test it and its not crashing in access point mode anymore.   The help question mark used within TELESCOPE/SETTINGS (tilt device to slew, save log file) is still like the picture above, and i noticed the same behavior with the help menu in PRIVACY 

    the only thing that changed from the initial test was the wireless celestron dongle changed IP addresses from 192.168.254.100 to 192.168.254.101  on my router.  

    i noticed when making a new preset for celestron wifi, if you click access point and continue to the next screens it never saves it the first time,  the new preset will show direct connect.   then i edit it again, a pop up for how to switch the modes on the dongle shows up, then its saves that time.... never the first time for a new preset..
