Beltegeuse is described as the star at East (or right) shoulder of Orion but it is the West (or left) shoulder instead ?

  I believe it marks the eastern shoulder.

  I don’t think that east or west makes sense for celestial objects.

  And Betelgeuse certainly marks Orion’s right shoulder which is the one we see to our left.

  Curiously, the beta version 7.1.2 (1056) says “left” shoulder (and Rigel is at the “right” hip) which is again not correct. If I could ask Orion to raise his right hand, he would raise the hand on the shoulder where Betelgeuse is located :)
