    Are you experiencing the same type of graphics issue as shown in the attached image?

    There are two possible causes for a block graphics issue.  And so we also have two possible solutions.

    Please see below.

    ====================================================================

    Problem & Solution #1

    ====================================================================

    The Problem:

    Glance Speed Boost Driver & LogMeIn Mirror Driver are both known to create an issue - creating purple & grey graphic blocks in the sky.

    The (other known) Solution:

    Uninstall the Glance Speed Boost or LogMeIn driver.

    Please do the following:

    1. Go to Control Panel.

    2. Click on System.

    3. On the left panel, click on Device Manager.

    4. Check whether you have Glance Speed Boost or LogMeIn Mirror Driver listed under Display Adapter.

    5. If so, please right click and uninstall Glance Speed Boost or LogMeIn Mirror Driver.

    ====================================================================

    Problem & Solution #2

    ====================================================================

    The OTHER Problem:

    If you can not resolve the issue by uninstall Glance Speed Boost or LogMeIn driver then its possible our methods of asking your video card for how much memory it has are failing (or your card is failing to properly return that value) and so SN does not run properly.

    The Solution:

    Add a line of code that forces SN run with a given value for your video card memory.

    Please do the following for Starry Night V7:

    1.  Go to (Windows) \Users<YourUserName>\AppData\Local\Simulation Curriculum\Starry Night Prefs\<SN Program Name>\Prefs.txt

    2.  Open the Prefs.txt in Notepad.

    3.  Add the following line of code to the bottom, before the </body> tag.

    <SN_VALUE name="OpenGLAvailableVRAMOverride" value=“512">

    Note, (thank you Victor!) you may need to check your video card dedicated memory and then use that value number instead of '512'

    4.  Save the Prefs.txt file.

    5.  Start SN7.

    Please do the following for Starry Night V6:

    1.  Go to (Windows) \Users<YourUserName>\AppData\Local\Imaginova Canada\Prefs\<SN Program Name>\Prefs.txt

    2.  Open the Prefs.txt in Notepad.

    3.  Add the following line of code to the bottom, before the </body> tag.

    <SN_VALUE name="OpenGLAvailableVRAMOverride" value=“512">

    Note, (thank you Victor!) you may need to check your video card dedicated memory and then use that value number instead of '512'

    4.  Save the Prefs.txt file.

    5.  Start SN6.

      already had that line in my prefs.txt, checked my video card dedicated memory, it was 2048 so I changed the existing line from "0" to "2048"

      Hi,  I am using Starry Night Pro 7 with windows 8.1.  I carried out a windows update and now I am suffering from the Pink/Gray block problem.  I have looked and I do not have the LogMeIn Mirror Driver listed under Display Adapter.  I have tried to roll back the updates but still have the problem.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

      Cheers  Ian P

      Using SN 6.4.3 with Windows 7 and tried the Pref.txt file edit also, but no improvement.  I currently have a white sky and a purple horizon.  Also did not have LogMeIn Mirror Driver or Speed Booster listed under Display Adapter.
