Issues With SS7 Pro + SynScan App After Latest Update (Solution: Use Gideon's Workaround For Now)

Since the 7.1.5 SF7 Pro fix of the non-responsive Scope Controls I am not able to get SF7 Pro to “talk” to Synscan to obtain alignment data. Not sure if my current issue is related?? I use iOS via an iPad 10th Gen running iOS 16.1.2.

The scope controls will connect and I can move the scope, however SF7 Pro seems to have it’s own agenda, and its GoTo does not correlate with the Synscan alignment. Prior to the problem with non-response of Scope controls, all I had to do was perform a 3 star alignment using Synscan through the Skywatcher WiFi adaptor, then do a Polar Algnment.

Once those two tasks were complete, I simply left Synscan running on the iPad, and booted up SF7 Pro. I merely had to hit the Scope / Connect buttons and the SF7 App would center its “bullseye” exactly on the object that the telescope was pointed at. SF7 Pro no longer does that. It points the telescope randomly to virtually empty space??

I must be doing something wrong ,or have incorrect settings I guess. Anybody had this problem or maybe have a solution??

Are there any update on this? I feel like I am very disappointed with the way you guys got the money for app on iOS (lot more expensive and even sometime expensive then Microsoft office it-self) and the kind of support out there??

The upcoming update requires cooperation from both our SkySafari developers and the SynScan Pro app development team.

    Thanks for your patience.

Thank you Keiron Smith! Are there any timelines? Also a request "we" as user expects to have updates on the issues that are not allowing users to use application properly, isn't it?

yes, I do. last week I was trying to capture comet and at that time I used beta version and following are my observations:

    1. app opened successfully
    2. I was able to search except that if I do partial like if I say ZTE then it was saying no object found
    3. I tried connecting to the tracker and it was able to connect
    4. when I was searching manually to say Orion on the sky and click on that and than whether I do align or goto, nothing happened, tracker didn't even move or no error either
    5. when I searched for an object like M42 and then when I click on center, now here IF say object is on other side of earth (I am on day side of earth and object is on night side of the earth) then it showed white cross bar but there is no "i" (information icon) shows up next to that.
    6. When I searched for M42 at my night time when I see it visible with naked eyes it shows cross bar with the "i" (information icon) but if I move away then the direction arrow is missing, to say where M42 was since I moved the viewing angle. Meaning it doesn't remember where my searched object is where I was there before.
    7.
    8.

     I hope this help!

    Girish,

Is your feedback specific to the issues with SS7 Pro + SynScan Pro app?

I have trouble following your report.

    Thanks!
