Trying to import an observing-list I made into SS6. All the directions I can find in the forum (VERY OLD) point to a directory that does not exist. When I create said directory and put the file into it, it will not show up on the device

Keiron Smith Bill,
Please read here:
Thanks!

Keiron Smith But, if possible, you should really be using LiveSky to import observing lists.

Bill VanOrden How do I import a list that I have already created?
+ADD NEW only allows me to start building a list from scratch.
IMPORT FROM REPOSITORY only allows me to import a pre made list.

Keiron Smith With what app did you create the list in question?
-
Bill VanOrden I have the Celestial Harvest book's complete listing in an access database and I wrote a VB6 app to harvest (pun intended) the database and write it to a text file in the format that SS wants to see.

Keiron Smith Manually importing is the way to go. Thanks!
-
Bill VanOrden Well that's a PITA if you have 300 items in the list. Not sure why this has to be that difficult. Create an Observing List, formatted correctly, and then move it to the directory of the device.

Keiron Smith Bill,
By manual, I do mean to do it as you are describing.
Create an Observing List, formatted correctly, and then move it to the directory of the device.
Thanks!

Bill VanOrden OK, got it. I thought manual meant to hand enter into a list.
I managed to get the file transferred using my phone and of course it magically shows up on my tablet, so I think I am good to go.

Keiron Smith An excellent result, Bill!

Bill VanOrden Still trying to sort out why it did not import everything. It rejected a lot of stars, yet if I search in the application using the same term it finds them.

Bill VanOrden OK, one last question and I will leave you alone...
I made changes to the observing list on my Galaxy Tablet and they show up online in the Live Sky, but the changes did not show up on my Galaxy phone.
An trick to a refresh? it has bee almost 6 hours and no change to the list on the phone.
