I want to track tonight's asteroid pass in SkySafari 5 Pro but there are two entries for Florence and they are about 4 degrees apart.
I notice that one has a later epoch date so I'm guess this is the more accurate one?
Probably a lot of people will be looking in the wrong place based on this.
Yes, the second entry is the correct one (or whichever has the most recent epoch).
When the code updates the orbit data it should replace the older entry. In the cases we've seen in the past where this doesn't happen, it is because the Minor Planet Center changed the official designation of the object so we don't recognize the old and new as the same object. We haven't had time to see if that is what is going on now.

Ahh..I was just going to post about Florence being four degrees off after trying to use SkySafari last night for an hour to find it. I ended up using online charts and found it, but didn't realize there was two entries. I did update the minor body orbit data before I started, but was still left with the incorrect entry unfortunately.

To get as accurate prediction as possible, I have just added another entry with the latest elements for Florence. If you update your orbit data and then search for "Florence", you should see an entry for "Florence_latest". That one is the latest and greatest.
Unfortunately, I can't easily delete the out of date elements without an app update.
Thanks for that Bill. I was viewing Florence last night and neither entry was correct (although one got me close enough to find it), so hopefully the 'latest' entry will do the trick next time the clouds clear :)
I'm pretty sure "Florence_latest" will be spot on.
