I would like to not use the Meade handset, but like the High Precision option. Is there anything in the SW that would mimic that command? I have looked but cannot see anything.

Keiron Smith Hi Kevin,
The hand controller is required to align the scope. And, SkySafari can not connect until the scope has been aligned.

Kevin Phelan Hmmm - not sure that answered my question. SkySafari? Not using that. The scope is aligned, just use high precision to be more centered on object. But, sounds like it cannot do that.
Slowly working my way through this package - very good!

Keiron Smith Sorry, meant to say Starry Night. Still logic is the same. How are you aligning without using the hand controller. And, what is high precision? I could be more helpful if I better understood what you are doing, and referring to. Please expand upon your request. Thanks.

Kevin Phelan Ok. Scope is permanently mounted in an observatory. High Precision is a Meade thing.Once I turn the scope on, I usually go to Vega or some bright star, center it the align the scope to it (it is usually very close). With high precision on (setting on handset), if I wanted to go to M101, it would slew to the closest, brightest star - tell me to center, press enter and then the scope would slew to M101 and it would be perfectly centered. I believe that all high precision does is get rid of the errors the motors, gears etc.
