    Yes, it is just a rebranded SkyFi 3.  We make it for them.

    Does this mean if I purchase Stella, I can use firmware updates from Simulation Curriculum and get support here?  Also, will SkySafari and third party software work with Stella exactly as it does with SkyFi 3?

    The reason I ask is that I see Stella being sold at a discount, but it also seems Meade's support is lacking.

    I'm willing to buy directly here if that means better support, updates, compatibility, but if all things are equal, I would rather save a few dollars with Stella.

    Meade is supposed to provide support for Stella.  Yes, in theory you can download firmware updates from us but I believe it technically voids the warranty if you don't install the Meade versions.  They are probably not quite as up to date as the Simulation Curriculum versions.

    You will get better support from us if you by the actual SkyFi 3 model.
