2014MU69 is a magnitude 27.4 object and only the Hubble telescope is capable of seeing it directly. Barely. That would make it tough to display properly in a star field in SS.
However I would be all for having all known KBO's/TNO's added to SS as an optional, single catalog of objects.
I was part of two NASA occultation expeditions to Argentina earlier this year for 2014MU69. It was great fun!
It is in the Pro database. You do need to search for it as "2014 MU69". The space is important.
We substantially revamped our updating of asteroids and comets. The Pro database should have about everything.
Strange. I was able to search and find 2014 MU69 once but every subsequent attempt to find it via search in SSP5 has failed.
Hmm... I just tried it again and found it. I also updated my orbital elements and still found it. You might try updating the elements and trying again.
Exiting SSP5 and killing it from memory and then re-launching SSP5 and now I can find it again.
Strange.
I may have to upgrade from plus to pro. Nice to know.
