Observing list sort options

SS 5 Pro on Samsung galaxy tab s2

 

There are no observing list sort option when in portrait mode.

  Sven,

  I don't understand what you are saying. I see the options in both portrait and landscape.  Can you attach a screen short showing what you are seeing?

  Hi Bill,

   

  Here you go.

  I always switch off auto-rotation because during star hopping, I sometimes need to rotate

  the tablet. As far as I can say, it is the only way for me to get to those options.

  I'm not seeing that.  What version of Android are you running?

  If you leave auto-rotation on, does the list appear and disappear as you rotate between the two orientations?

  Yes, they do appear.

   

  I tried attaching my log file, but couldn't.

  So it sounds like this is not simply a case of the options not displaying in Portrait.  Please describe exactly how to get in this state.

  Hi Bill,

  I start SS 5 Pro when in portrait mode. I click 'Search', select one of my observing lists, and click 'List Settings'.

  No sorting options are shown. Now, with the list settings page visible, I rotate the tablet to landscape mode. The

  sort options suddenly appear.

  Obviously, this does not work when disabling 'Allow Auto Rotation' which is how I use SS5 Pro.

  Not sure what is happening.  This must be something unique to your device or we would have had many reports about this.  Have you tried rebooting?

  In any case I will not be able to work on this until next year.  We are totally heads down getting SS6 out for iOS right now.

  On my Google Nexus 6P, it works fine. Maybe a tablet thing?

  It is fine on the tablets I've tried it on but they are on Android 6.  I do not have an Android 7 tablet.  I will have to try this in the simulator who I get a chance.

  I'm having the same issue here on my Galaxy Tab S3, running Android 7.0, Kernal 3.18.31-12165571.  No search order selections in portrait mode, but once i rotate to landscape, all options are there and work.

  Curiously, my phone, a Galaxy S8 Active, running Android 7.0, Kernal 4.4.16-12551610, which does support rotate and is active, doesn't display this error.  So I'm guessing it's mostly a tablet issue?
