I was just curious if you have an estimated time frame of when version 6.0 will be released? Thank You!

Bill Tschumy The iOS version should be out around the end of the year. The macOS version will follow in a couple of months and then Android around late spring. That's assuming all goes according to schedule.

Andrew Sauls Hello Mr Tschumy! The last time we conversed you were on vacation in Hawai'i several years ago. I am curious if you'll be doing an Android Beta Program for SkySafari 6?
-
Bill Tschumy We will probably do some sort of beta program. We haven't thought it through yet as it is still pretty far away. We will announce the beta when it is ready.

Eskil Swahn Today the iOS version of SkySafari 6 was released. Is the ETA of the macOS version still "a couple of months" away? Seems an awful long time to get back in sync. Anyway to keep data in sync between iOS and macOS in the mean time apart from export/import?

Bill Tschumy Sorry, but it will take a couple of months for the Mac version to get out. There is a lot of work to port to the Mac.
Unfortunately there is not an ideal situation in keep Mac and iOS synched right now. You can export or email your lists from SS6 but you will lose you observations when you bring them into SS5. Observations are handled in fundamentally different ways in SS5 & SS6.
Using our new LiveSky portal you can manipulate your observing lists on the desktop via a browser.

Maugustyn A late spring Android version was mentioned. Any word on that release now that it is mid spring?
-
Bill Tschumy It is now going to be more like mid to late June. Sorry.

Maugustyn No problem. Perfectly happy with 5. Just want to send you more money!
