I have SkySafari Pro 3 on my Ipad Air. Pro 3 has served me well for my purposes, until I upgraded the Ipad's IOS to 11. As I now see IOS 11 and Pro 3 do not play nice.
What version of SkySafari do you recommend that I obtain? And would this be an upgrade to the existing Pro 3, or a complete new install?

SkySafari 3 was written back when Apple had only 32 bit apps. In the 6 intervening years, Apple has dropped support for 32-bit apps and now requires everything be compiled using 64-bit technology.
We just released SkySafari 6 about 5 days ago. I would recommend that version. It is a paid upgrade but is half price for the first month after release.
It would be a completely new install. If you have observing lists or settings files that yo would like to migrate to SS6 the procedure is described here:
To be honest, I don't think we tested upgrading observing lists from SS3 to SS6. I believe it should work though.

SkySafari 6 Pro is definitely the way to go if you're doing any real observing at all. Please excuse the lateness of our replies, the team has taken a few days off for the Christmas break.

Sorry if I was not clear. If you have SkySafari 3 Pro then you probably want to stick with the Pro level. We do have comparisons between Plus & Pro on our website:

Could you please elaborate on why our "method of communication is not the best"? What problems are you having? As Dave said, we did take a couple of days off for Christmas but other than that we should respond promptly.

First time user mistake.
Your response came to me as an email. I sent two separate comments/questions in response (i.e. via email). This morning I saw the emails had been kicked back due to use of a "no reply" email.
Did some digging and found the "view the comment" selection. Followed that path and got held up by a requirement to allow cookies. That path stalled and nothing happened, so I cleared all and tried the "view the comment" again. That time everything worked.
I'll know what to do correctly from here in.
I will go with the Pro 6.
